Iowa Avenue Grade Separation, Riverside, California (Ongoing Contract, $32M)

The Iowa Avenue Grade Separation project provides for the separation of a major arterial street with the BNSF mainline tracks within an industrial area of the City.  Iowa Avenue will be reconstructed to cross over the tracks, being placed on a 3-span pre-stressed cast-in-place concrete box girder structure, measuring  458 feet in length, and 102 feet wide, supported on steel driven “H” piles.  Mechanically stabilized earth retaining walls will be used to narrow the fill footprint of Iowa Avenue.  The reconfiguration of utility facilities and the realignment of several street intersections included an access road under the bridge to maintain access to business properties.
